What is the microbiome?
The microbiome is the genetic material of all the microbes – bacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses – that live on and inside the human body. The number of genes in all the microbes in one person’s microbiome is 200 times the number of genes in the human genome. The microbiome may weigh as much as five pounds.
What is MS Fatigue?
Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of MS, occurring in about 80 percent of people. It can significantly interfere with a person’s ability to function at home and work, and is one of the primary causes of early departure from the workforce. Fatigue may be the most prominent symptom in a person who otherwise has minimal activity limitations.
The cause of MS fatigue is currently unknown. Ongoing studies seek an objective test that can be used as a marker for fatigue, and for precise ways to measure it. Some people with MS say that family members, friends, co-workers or employers sometimes misinterpret their fatigue and think they are depressed or just not trying hard enough.
What Does the Microbiome Have to Do With Health?
The microbiome is essential for human development, immunity and nutrition. The bacteria living in and on us are not invaders but beneficial colonizers.
Autoimmune diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, and fibromyalgia are associated with dysfunction in the microbiome.
Disease-causing microbes accumulate over time, changing gene activity and metabolic processes and resulting in an abnormal immune response against substances and tissues normally present in the body.
Autoimmune diseases appear to be passed in families not by DNA inheritance but by inheriting the family’s microbiome.
How is the Microbiome Connected to MS?
A recent study shows there’s a direct link between the microbiome and Multiple Sclerosis. There has been a substantial increase in the number of studies focused upon connecting the gut microbiome with cases of central nervous system (CNS) autoimmunity. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurodegenerative autoimmune disorder of the CNS.
As previously discussed, autoimmunity has been shown to be impacted by the gut microbiome. However, it has also been said that the disease itself can shape the structure and function of the gut microbiome. What this implies is that there is a bi-directional relationship between diseased states and the structure and function of the gut microbiome.
The gut microbiota resides on the intestinal mucosal surfaces and plays an integral role in digesting food, producing energy and regulating immune development.
Microbial metabolites are critical messengers in the cross talk between microbiome and host cells. They induce not only local effects in the gut, but also changes in distant organs such as liver, heart and the central nervous system. Dysbiosis of the gut microbiome has been associated with numerous diseases including obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and colorectal cancer.
In order to preserve cell identity and function, epigenome integrity must be restored after DNA damage repair.
The Food We Eat….
When we have been eating the wrong types of foods for many many years, it plays a huge part in changing the microbiome and the microbiota. Over time the microbiome is depleted and cannot function optimally to do it’s job.
For example: the documentary Supersize Me by Director Morgan Spurlock’s social experiment in fast-food gastronomy sees him attempting to subsist uniquely on food from the McDonald’s menu for an entire month.
In the process his weight balloons, his energy level plummets and he experiences all sorts of unexpected — and terrifying — side effects.
He also examines the corporate giant’s growing role in the lives of American consumers and explores its methods of indoctrinating young people and its contribution to America’s obesity epidemic.
Ponder this thought for a moment – A big mac at McDonald’s costs you $1.00 and some change, whereas; a salad or fruit costs $5.00 and some change. This is what is wrong with America. To eat healthy we have to pay high amounts of money, and to eat junk food is cheapest. What on earth is wrong with this picture?
When we eat the wrong types of foods, it plays a huge role on how we feel. Our health and wellness is at jeopardy. Food also changes our microbiome and gene environment. For good or bad. Then you add our DNA and epigenome into the mix – no wonder obesity, auto-immune disorders, etc are affecting millions of people.
How Do I Reverse MS Fatigue and Heal Microbiome?
Consuming the right types of foods and beverages is the first on the list. For those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) it is vital to sticking to an anti-inflammatory eating plan. Consuming clean, organic, plant-based foods is the foundation.
When I was hit with chronic fatigue aka: MS Fatigue sleeping up to 20 hours a day I didn’t realize that stress and eating incorrectly was the triggers that brought on the symptoms.
This lasted for over a year and half with no hope in sight, and my neurologist couldn’t help me. This is when I decided to take matters into my own hands and began doing a lot of research.
Through trial and error I documented what worked and what didn’t, incorporating the Wellness 360 holistic philosophy, which also includes certain supplements. In the end I developed The MS Energy Blueprint.
This individualized roadmap has helped numerous women living with MS and other health challenges to increase energy levels, manage MS symptoms and improve overall health, including the microbiome, naturally, so that they can live life with vitality and abundance.
In less than 3 months I reversed the MS Fatigue completely and began healing my microbiome through all the steps in The MS Energy Blueprint.

What is SNP?
(Pronounced “snips) A Single Nucleotide Poly-morphism. Are the most common types of genetic variation among people. Each SNP represents a substitution of a single DNA building block, called a nucleotide. For more information on DNA supplements click here.
